Your holiday in Lazio-Rome will be mostly spent in Rome itself. Rome town was originally built on seven hills. Their names were the Capitoline Hill, the Palatine Hill, and the Aventine, Esquiline, Quirinal, Viminal and Caelian hill. On The Capitol you will find the Capitolian museum. The group of art and archaeology museums are definitely worth a visit while in Rome. The Piazza del Campidoglio where the museums are built on, are designed by Michelangelo. Here you can also view a copy of the famous bronze statue of the emperor Marcus Aurelius on a horse. These museums are full with beautiful statues, Tombs mosaic and other interesting remains of the Roman era. The original bronze statue of Romulus and Remus being fed by the wolf can also be seen here.
